SCHEDULING YOUR TRIP
SELECT:
a field trip topic. If you would like help in choosing a topic, we
are more than happy to assist.
CALL:
the Education Department registrar at 440.602.3833 from 8am – 4pm
Monday through Friday at least three weeks prior to the desired tour date.
Please have the following information ready:

CONFIRMATION/CANCELLATION:
You will receive a confirmation letter no later than 10 days before
your visit. Please read this letter and check the date, time and number of
students we expect to arrive. If you do not receive a confirmation letter,
call us. Only under extreme weather conditions will we cancel your trip. If
you must cancel your trip, we ask that you do so 48 hours prior to your
scheduled visit. Schools canceling after this time will be charged a $15
processing fee.

Minimum
group size is always 10. Larger groups may schedule multiple tour times.
PAYMENT:
can be made by cash, check, or purchase order at the Warren H.
Corning Visitor Center where your guide will meet you.
EARLY
and LATE:
Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park, use the
restrooms, divide your group, etc. In the event that you arrive late, the
length and or content of the program will be altered as needed to fit within
the time remaining.
CHAPERONS:
All groups must bring one adult to accompany every ten students.
These adults will not be charged. Any additional adults above the
required number will be charged the student cost. Groups will be divided
into smaller groups of approximately 10-15 students and at least one
chaperon must accompany each group.
APPROPRIATE
DRESS and FOOTWEAR:
All programs are outdoors. Students should wear comfortable shoes
that keep feet dry. The trails are not paved and are often muddy. Plan for
cold and/or rain. Bring a jacket or raincoat if necessary. Please wear
nametags to facilitate instructor/student interaction.
LUNCH:
Plan a picnic either before or after your scheduled program. There
are open air tables free of charge, or you may reserve the Albert Fairchild
Holden Memorial Shelter House or an indoor room if available, for a fee.

Holden makes every effort to address the special needs of individuals and
groups. Please call us with any special requests or questions so we
can discuss how to best address the needs of your students.
