Leaf Trail

When:  September - October
Cost: $2 per scout

 

Follow a trail of more than 30 trees, practicing identification skills using a simple key. You can make a collection and take it home. We provide a brochure with a map, key and descriptions.

 

Celebrate Arbor Day at Holden

When:  Saturday, May 1, 2010
Cost: FREE

 

Bring your Boy and Gril Scout group out and celebrate Arbor Day. Receive FREE admission and take part in lots of kid freindly activities including scavenger hunts, tree climbing, free tree seedlings and tree plantings. You'll learn a lot and help make the world a greener place.

 

Girl Scouts

The Holden Arboretum has year-round programming where Girl Scouts can earn badges in a unique outdoor environment. Pre-registration is required. All programs are 90 minutes long. Contact 440.602.3833 for questions and registration.

Brownies

Plants Try It!

When:  Year Round
Cost: $5 per scout

 

What better way to learn about plants than at an arboretum? This

indoor/outdoor program will show you how cool plants are. Girls will

earn their badge to take with them at the end of the program.

Juniors

Outdoor Creativity Badge

When:  April - November
Cost: $5 per scout

Be inspired by nature and create some of your own works of art. Girls will

earn their badge to take with them at the end of the program.

Boy / Cub Scouts

The Holden Arboretum has year-round programming for Cub Scouts.  Learn and have fun in a unique outdoor environment.  All programs are 90 minutes long. Contact the Education Department at 440.602.3833 for questions and registration.

Tigers and Wolves

Plants

When:  Year Round
Cost: $4 per scout

 

What better place to learn about plants than at an arboretum?  This indoor/outdoor program will show you that plants are

the coolest things around.  Tigers complete Lets Go Outdoors Achievement 5d, 5g and elective 30 – Plant a Seed. Wolves complete the Grow Something electives 15c and e.

Webelos

Forester

When:  Year Round
Cost: $4 per scout

 

Study a forest in a forest.  Learn how trees grow, how to identify them, how to tell their age and how animals use them. 

Scouts will complete the Forester Badge.
