Exchange your vows at a truly magical and unforgettable location. The Holden Arboretum provides a beautiful, natural backdrop for a wedding ceremony or reception. Exchange vows in the gardens or in a room with a stunning view of a garden or woodland setting. See our Holden Wedding Photo Album.

 

During regular visitor hours, ceremonies can be held in the Helen S. Layer Rhododendron Garden (closed for 2012 season) or at Lantern Court.  After 6 p.m. ceremonies can be held in Arlene and Arthur S. Holden Jr. Butterfly Garden, one of the loveliest and most enchanting areas at Holden.

 

This ceremony-only option is available year round. The two-hour rental period fee varies per location.  A rain venue can be reserved for an additional fee. Download a printable version of our wedding brochure.

Wedding Services

For outdoor ceremonies, Holden can set up 12 chairs for guests with special needs. For indoor ceremonies, staff members can set up the maximum amount of chairs permitted for the space.

 

Special note: Use of the space for one hour the day before the event for a ceremony rehearsal is included in the rental fee.

Wedding Receptions

Enjoy an elegant celebration on your special day with a reception at one of the region’s most gorgeous locations. The Holden Arboretum will welcome your guests in grace and splendor to its 3,600 acres of beautiful gardens and natural areas. 

Indoors, our flexible floor plans permit receptions from 50 to up to 100.

Wedding extras, including audio/visual equipment

The following services are included with rental fees:

  • Admission to the property for all rental guests.
  • The use of Holden tables and chairs.
  • The room will be set-up by Holden Arboretum staff to an agreed upon plan at least two hours prior to your event.
  • The agreed upon rental space for up to six hours.

Not included in the rental fee:

  • Holden staff does not coordinate your event.  A list of wedding coordinators can be provided.
  • Holden staff does not handle arrangements with the caterer or other third party vendors.
  • Holden staff does not assist you in decorating your event space.
  • Holden staff cannot sign for deliveries on your behalf.

Wedding Photography

Capture lasting images of your perfect day in a setting as treasured as the memories you’ll be creating. Our naturalistic gardens offer a serene and magical location for your wedding photography. Each setting has its own distinct style that will add a unique personality to your special day. Please note that the Helen S. Layer Rhododendron Garden will be closed during the 2012 season.

 

Wedding photography is available within Holden’s gardens. One-hour outdoor photography sessions are available from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week. Holden will provide access to the gardens for the wedding party for up to one hour.  We do not provide transportation within the gardens to wedding parties.  Alcohol is not permitted.

 

Fee: The cost for wedding photography is $250 per hour.  All admission fees for the entire wedding party are included within the wedding photography fee.  The fee for wedding photography is non-refundable unless The Holden Arboretum closes the property due to an emergency.
