Description |
Rocks, water, frogs, mud, fish, and plants. These are just a few of the items that water provides. Join one of our staff and venture out to a water playground. We will find water a wondrous place and we will bring along a few items such as nets, buckets, and jars. Once we get there we will see what a child's imagination comes up with. The goal is unstructured play that encourages imagination, discovery, observation and creativity. Accompanying adults are encouraged to sit back and enjoy watching the kids do what they do best when they are given the time and the right location. Bring a snack and drink in case the kids get hungry. Stay for as long as you want and leave when you must. |

In this English version of an old tale the little wolves are trying to escape from the pig. He knocks down all their houses until the wolves build one out of flowers. Believe it or not the flower house works and the wolves are saved. Come find out how and then make your own miniature house of flowers to take home. |

Description |
Do you like walking in water, catching frogs and building dams in streams? If so, Pierson Creek is the perfect place to explore if you don't mind getting wet, really wet. Join us as we travel down the creek by walking in the creek to see where it ends up. We'll search for frogs, try and catch the elusive crayfish, and follow all the twists and turns the water makes as we go over and under logs to reach our final destination. Bring a sense of adventure, waterproof boots and a change of clothes. Each family member must be able to walk down steep hills and hike for two miles, often times in the creek. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate foot gear with good tread for some wet walking. |

Description |
The Holden Arboretum and Red Oak Camp are teaming up again to offer fun-filled outdoor recreation and nature programming sure to actively engage your pre-teen in the great outdoors. This three-day experience provides ample opportunity for canoeing, swimming and rock wall climbing along with nontraditional challenges such as rope and harness tree climbing and flying through the air on a zip line. Kids will have plenty of time to experience the thrill of discovery while exploring diverse natural habitats during Holden staff guided journeys into streams, forests, fields and other remote areas of Holden. Red Oak is an ACA accredited camp. Fee includes all meals, cabin lodging and programming. A what to bring list will be provided at the time of registration. |
