Wine and Cheese Night Hike

Description Enjoy a leisurely hike along Holden's diverse woodland trails in search of night sounds, animal sightings and learn a bit about the night time forest ecosystem. On clear nights a After the hike, relax and enjoy a selection of wines, non-alcoholic beverages, fresh fruit and gourmet chesses. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather, this hike goes rain or shine. These hikes fill quickly – prompt registration is suggested (Adults Only).

Summer Highlight Tours

A Grand Photographic Adventure

Description

Join environmental photographer and naturalist Ian Adams for a photographic adventure along the Grand River in Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula Counties. We’ll begin with an exciting hike/wade along the Grand
River at Riverview Park in Lake County to observe and photograph early summer wildflowers, butterflies, and more than a dozen species of dragonflies and damselflies – bring your rubber boots, binoculars and a
macro lens! Then we will travel to a scenic park near Thompson in Geauga County to admire and photograph ferns, mosses, and sandstone rock formations. Finally we’ll visit a wetland near the Grand River to search for rare butterflies, dragonflies and other insects. Directions and a handout with photography tips will be provided to participants.This program is designed for people who have a basic understanding of digital photography and are familiar with the controls and settings on their camera(s). Bring a bag lunch, beverage, and bug repellent. We'll meet again at Holden Arboretum's Visitor Center on July 6 at 7:00pm to share our Grand River Tour photos and get some tips from Ian on fine-tuning your digital nature photographs.

Potluck with Your Pooch
