Description

Chair yoga adapts traditional yoga poses so that they can be done with a chair for support, making yoga accessible for everyone. Learn breathing and relaxation techniques, increase flexibility and strength, and improve your balance and circulation. Your body and mind are really going to appreciate this class. All are welcome. A great program for seniors. Wear loose comfortable clothing.

Description

Enjoy an easy, one-mile guided walk among the collections, gardens and natural areas while learning about Holden's history and programming. An excellent tour for first time visitors and those interested in taking a close up look at beautiful plants. There is no need to register for this tour.

Enjoy a leisurely hike along Holden's diverse woodland trails in search of night sounds, animal sightings and learn a bit about the night time forest ecosystem. Join professional photographer Ian Adams and learn how to take great photos with your iPhone, plus some of the best Apps for capturing photos as well as fine tuning and sharing them on your iPhone, iPad, PC or Mac. You’ll learn the best iPhone settings for photography, how to organize, sync and back up your iPhone photos with your iPad and home computer, how to share your iPhone photos using Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and other social networking sites, plus tips on composition, lighting, and creating fine art from your iPhone photos. Garden Tool Basket Class

Description

This useful basket is divided in the middle to carry your seeds, trowel and twine or maybe even tomatoes and beans. We will use a basic weave for the body of the basket and the handle can be wrapped with seagrass cord to give a decorative touch. When completed the base of the basket will measure 12”x10”. Please bring a flathead screwdriver and needle-nose pliers if you have them.

Celebrate Summer in Silk

Description

Capture the cool shades of green and intense flower colors of summer in shimmering hand painted silk using a resist method and water-based dyes that flow like water color. Release your inner artist as you create two painted silks, either 12" x 60" or 26" square, while learning brush control, color mixing, shading and a bit of history. Advanced students can make one large silk. No experience necessary. Bring a brown bag lunch.
