Stebbins Gulch The Big Waterfall

Climbing the Big Waterfall

Scaling the big waterfall in the Berea Sandstone is the adventure-training portion of the tour.  It is not as difficult as it might look, even though most people are not accustomed to climbing a steep wall of shale with water tumbling down it at the same time.  The thin shale beds beneath the caprock provide enough purchase to climb up the right side of the falls without too much danger of slipping.
