Holden Arboretum Camps

Nature Quest Camp

Week 1: Children entering K-2 Dates: July 9-13
Week 2: Children entering 3-5 Dates: July 23 -27
Time: 9am – 3pm
Location: The Holden Arboretum
Instructor: Education staff/volunteers
Cost: $130 member, $160 nonmember
Session 1 – Children entering 1st and 2nd grades
Session 2: Children entering 3rd through 5th grades.

Campers will get in touch with their wild side and foster their adventurous spirit at this nature-based day camp. Activities include nature hikes, climbing the Emergent Tower and Canopy Walk, art projects, field games and so much more. A daily snack is provided.

Working With Nature

Date: Monday – Friday, July 16 – 20
Time: 9am – 3pm
Location: Warren H. Corning Visitor Center
Instructor: Education staff
Cost: $150 members/$180 nonmembers
Ages: Children entering 6th through 9th grades

Did you know that you can make a career out of climbing trees, protecting wildlife, or creating beautiful gardens? Professionals in the fields of conservation, research, horticulture and forestry will give campers a first-hand look at what it takes to forge a future in the world of natural science. Activities include conservation field work, demonstrations in the research lab, and harnessed tree climbing.

The Arboretum Experience Camp

Date: Monday – Wednesday, July 25 – 29
Time: 9am – 3pm
Location: The Holden Arboretum
Instructor: Education staff and volunteers
Cost: $150 per child, members; $180 per child, nonmembers
Ages: Children entering 5th through 7th grades

This brand new summer camp allows campers to experience all that the Holden Arboretum has to offer. Each day, a different area of our 3,600 acres will be explored. Excursions include a Stebbins Gulch creek hike, Old Valley rugged hike, and more. Games, nature activities and educational experiences will punctuate the day to help campers forge deeper connections to the natural world.

Cleveland Botanical Garden Camps

Session 1:  June 11- 15
Session 2: June 18 – 22
Time: 9am – Noon
Location: Cleveland Botanical Garden
Instructor: Education staff and volunteers
Cost: $130 per child, members; $160 per child, nonmembers
Ages: Children entering kindergarten through second grades

Campers will enjoy stories, scavenger hunts, crafts and games during this hands-on, nature-based day camp. Each activity has a botanical twist that is designed to foster an appreciation for the beautiful, diverse, and sometimes strange world of plants. As an added bonus, our special summer experience will allow campers to explore the gardens in all new ways and make exciting discoveries. Daily snack is provided. Both sessions of camp are identical.
