This program is ideal for landowners of small and large forested properties.  Participants will spend the day at Working Woods where they will learn about woodlot management, and the integral role forester’s play.

  • Discover how different management strategies can help you achieve your land-stewardship goals, from wildlife habitat creation to timber management.
  • Learn about destructive invasive species and other threats to our forests and get updates on current techniques to protect the health of our woods.
  • Get informed about government programs such as Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV), Ohio Forest Tax Law (OFTL) and local regulations.

We will also spend some time out in the forest learning best management practices and how the Arboretum is managing its own Working Woods. Box lunch provided. CML (certified master logger) – 2 hours credit

Optional field session 3:30 – 5:30pm
