Discover spectacular old-growth beech forests and hidden hemlock ravines of the arboretum’s 800-acre South Stebbins property, not to be confused with Stebbins Gulch. This is one of the Arboretum’s most intact forests and is closed to the public, as it is devoted primarily to research. We’ll spend the morning exploring the unique habitats, searching for the special wildlife that utilizes this wild forest in the winter months.
Three to four miles of moderate to difficult walking on and off trail.
