Help Us Celebrate National Poetry Month

This spring, the Holden Arboretum wishes to showcase how Northeast Ohio students are creatively connecting to our forests. In honor of National Poetry Month, we are looking for short, simple, nature-themed poetry inspired by springtime in the woods that will be included on the Seasons of Haiku trail at the Arboretum. Your student’s poems will follow haiku poems that have been featured on the trail by poets from around the world.

Submitted student poems can be in short haiku format or any other short form poetry. Poems should be no longer than 10 lines. Fifteen student poems will be selected based on a variety of age/grade representation, poem style and content. Illustrations that accompany the poems are welcome. Please submit poetry on our website as a jpeg by March 1, 2019. Poems that are not selected for the trail will be highlighted elsewhere.  Selections for the trail will be made by March 15. The trail will be active starting on the spring Equinox, which is March 20, 2019. Contact Sharon Graper sgraper@holdenfg.org 440.602.3843 with any questions.
