Spend part of your visit to Holden at Buckeye Bud’s Adventure Woods.
Children can build a log shelter; hop, jump and limbo their way through the obstacle course; or take a quiet break at the bird feeding station. Be sure to explore Buckeye Bud’s Woodland Cabin, weave on the over-sized loom or use your imagination to act out a play in our woodland theater.
The observation tower is a great place to see turtles and frogs in Buttonbush Bog.
Buckeye Bud’s Adventure Woods will be open through October and is designed for families with children ages 3 to 10.
Buckeye Buds Adventure Woods is not staffed, adults are responsible to actively supervise children in their care.
Habitat Exploration at the Habitat Hut
Tuesdays & Saturdays, 9:30-11:30am
The Habitat Hut playhouse is located in the Myrtle S. Holden Wildflower Garden and is set among four easy-to-access habitats: prairie, stream, bog and woodland. Stop-in on Tuesday and Saturday mornings to read a story and set off on a habitat exploration led by education volunteers and staff. Each program is a little different and teaches families about the plants and animals that thrive in these different habitats, as-well-as the importance of caring for the natural world all around us. With hands-on activities and time to explore as a family, you never know what you’ll discover at the Habitat Hut.
