Kalberer Emergent Tower
Take your love of nature to new heights.
The Kalberer Emergent Tower is 120 feet (or approximately 12 stories) tall, which allows for a breathtaking, 360 degree, unrivaled view of the surrounding area. Guest can see all the way to Lake Erie on a clear day!
The Kalberer Emergent Tower has 202 steps, with platforms every 30 steps or so, to rest and take in the views of the tree canopy.
Things to discover
The Kalberer Emergent Tower and Murch Canopy Walk open for the season in April each year.
From April to October, both structures are open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last entry of the day at 4:45 p.m.
During the month of November, the structures are open Saturdays and Sundays only (weather permitting) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with last entry at 3:45 p.m.
Visits to the Kalberer Emergent Tower and Murch Canopy Walk are now included with membership and general admission.
Average Visit Time and Distance to Emergent Tower
- On average, it takes about an hour and a half to two hours to enjoy both the Kalberer Emergent Tower and Murch Canopy Walk.
- Guests may spend up to 30 minutes at this experience, allowing ample time to relax and enjoy the views.
- The Tower is located about one-half mile from the Corning Visitor Center.
For your safety, the Kalberer Emergent Tower may need to close during severe weather conditions, including thunderstorms, high winds and snow.
There are a few instances when the structure undergoes routine maintenance and may be closed for certain periods of time. Watch for announcements on our website, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
